About me
My name is Douglas Bazo de Castro. I hold an M.Sc. in Geosciences from the University of Campinas (Unicamp), where I specialized in high-resolution digital outcrop modeling using LiDAR, hyperspectral imaging, and photogrammetry. My work integrates real-time 3D visualization, C++/SQL-based geospatial systems, and agile software engineering for applications in mineral exploration, reservoir analysis, and virtual field simulation.
In addition to my M.Sc., I hold a B.Sc. in Geology, a B.Sc. in Mathematics (ranked 1st in class), an MBA in Project Management, and an A.S. in Databases. I’ve presented my work at major international conferences (IGC, GEOLOGY & EARTH SCIENCE, ArtsIT) and published multiple first-author papers in peer-reviewed venues.
I’m seeking a Ph.D. position focused on computational geoscience, spatial AI, remote sensing, or 3D geological systems, ideally in programs that value interdisciplinary, research-driven engineering approaches to earth science challenges.
